TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts track and field's Jaden Purnell will represent the Golden Eagles at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships March 8-9 in Birmingham, Alabama, as he will compete in the triple jump Saturday at 5 p.m.
The senior used an ORU and Summit League meet record-breaking performance last week at the league championship to vault into the top 16 nationally earning a ticket to the national meet. A native of Silver Spring, Maryland, Purnell ranks 14th in the country in the triple jump at 16.02 meters (52-6.75 feet).
The University of Alabama at Birmingham will host the championships at the Birmingham CrossPlex. ESPN3 will stream the championships live starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday and starting at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Purnell is one of 12 student-athletes from The Summit League to reach the event, the most participants in league history.
