Former Oral Roberts University women's basketball standout, Georgia Jones, is playing in her third season with the Leicester Riders for the 2015-16 season.
Jones is one of four Riders Women's team members of the Loughborough University side travelling to China to compete in the FISU World 3x3 Championships on Oct 9-11th.
The invitation of Loughborough University to the tournament comes following their success in BUCS (British University and College Sports) competition last season.
Georgia will take some prior international 3x3 experience into the competition with her having represented England at the inaugural World 3x3 Championships.
"I'm really looking forward to taking part in another 3x3 world event. Athens was such a great experience. Playing outside was completely different to anything I was use to and the pace of the 3x3 game was so much faster. It was just so exciting and fun to play in that environment and I'm looking forward to playing in that way again."
Jones was a member of the 2011 Great Britain Women's team that travels to play in the World Student Games during her time at Oral Roberts University. The British guard understands the opportunity to take part in such a prestigious event and is looking forward to enjoying the experience.
"Going to China is an adventure in itself but based on experience I know as the host country, they will ensure the event will be an impressive one.
I went to China for the World University Games in 2011. The facilities were amazing and overall experience was one of a kind. I have no doubt the 3x3 FISU championships will be the same and I'm looking forward to being a part of what is sure to be an exciting event."
Jones was instrumental in the Championship success of the 2013/14 season, where the team took the EBL Division One Playoff Championship, as well as becoming a BUCS Champion with Loughborough this past season.
Last season, Jones averaged, 11.3 points, 4.3 assists (second in WBBL), and 1.7 steals per game for the Riders, and was named in the Molten WBBL All-British Team.
