SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Oral Roberts women's basketball team opens play at the 2016 Summit League Tournament Sunday against Western Illinois.

Sunday's game will tip off from the Sanford PREMIER Center at noon and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN3 and through the WatchESPN App. Geoff Haxton's radio call of the game can also be heard at 1550 AM in the Tulsa area and around the world for free through www.ORUAthletics.com.

STORYLINES

► The Oral Roberts women's basketball team opens play at the 2016 Summit League Tournament Sunday for a second consecutive season. ORU enters as the No. 4 seed against the No. 5 seed Western Illinois after the two teams split the regular season series with the home team winning each game. The Golden Eagles also hold a 4-1 lead over the Leathernecks in tournament play.

► ORU is 22-11 all-time in The Summit League Tournament and 10-6 in the quarterfinals. The Golden Eagles are 9-0 when entering the tournament as the No. 4 seed and looking for its first appearance in The Summit League Championship game since 2010.

► Sophomore Kaylan Mayberry and Faith Ihim each lead the team in scoring at 11.0 and 10.3 points per game. During conference play Mayberry ranks 13th at 12.3 ppg.

► Ihim also leads ORU in rebounding and ranks sixth in The Summit League with 7.7 rebounds per game. She is also averaging 8.2 boards per game in her last five games.

► ORU shares the lead with South Dakota State in fewest points allowed during Summit League play this season. Both the Golden Eagles and Jackrabbits are holding opponents to 56.9 points per game as they are the only teams to hold opponents under 60 ppg.

► The Golden Eagles saw three players earn Summit League honors announced prior to the tournament. Sophomores Faith Ihim and Kaylan Mayberry joined freshman Maria Martianez to earn accolades. Ihim was named Sixth Woman of the year, while Mayberry earned Second Team All-Summit League honors. Martianez was tabbed to The Summit League All-Newcomer Team.
