SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Former Oral Roberts women's basketball All-American, Vicky McIntyre, signed with the San Antonio Stars of the WNBA on Tuesday.
McIntyre will join the Stars in San Antonio for training camp Thursday, April 27, in preparation for the 2016 WNBA season. San Antonio will open the preseason May 4 and 5 against the Atlanta Dream and Connecticut Sun in Connecticut.
After a historic season with the Golden Eagles, McIntyre continued to make history becoming the first player to ever be drafted in the WNBA from Oral Roberts University. She was selected 20th overall by the Seattle Storm in the 2015 WNBA Draft which was also the highest Summit League player to ever be drafted. She was released by the Storm before the regular season opener and played a portion of the 2015-16 season in the top professional league in China with Heilongjiang Shenda.
The Omaha native finished her career with the Golden Eagles after breaking the ORU and Summit League blocks and rebound records for a single-season. She also finished the season just four rebounds shy of the NCAA single-season rebound record.
