TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's basketball team will play its first game of the 2017-18 season on Saturday, November 11 against Big 12 Conference opponent TCU at 2 p.m. inside Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

Quick Hits

  • ORU will face TCU for the first game of the 2017-18 season. The Golden Eagles are 4-4 all-time against the Horned Frogs. If ORU wins it would be the third consecutive win over TCU.

  • A win for the Golden Eagles would be the first season opener win since the 2015-16 season. It would be the 46th overall win against Big 12 Conference opponents and back-to-back wins over Big 12 schools.

  • In their last meeting, ORU defeated TCU 78-74 in Fort Worth, Texas, in the Women's NIT on March 17, 2011. 

  • ORU brings in six newcomers for the season. Four freshmen along with sophomore transfer, Sarah Garvie and junior transfer, Rylie Torrey. Torrey will not participate in the 2017-18 season due to NCAA transfer regulations.

  • Senior Faith Ihim returns as the leading scorer and rebounder for the Golden Eagles. Last season, Ihim grabbed 233 rebounds and averaged 13.1 points per game. She is currently 35 points shy of 1,000 total career points. 

  • ORU was picked to finish fourth in The Summit League according to the preseason poll. Faith Ihim and Maria Martianez were named to the Summit League preseason all-league second team.

  • Last season, Maria Martianez grabbed 216 rebounds and averaged 12.3 points per game. 

  • Head Coach Misti Cussen will begin her sixth season at the helm for the Golden Eagles and holds a 74-80 overall head coaching record.
