Raelene Eddens Joins 2018-19 Signing Class

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's basketball team and Head Coach Misti Cussen announced the addition of Raelene Eddens to the 2018-19 team during the 2017 early signing period.

A 5-foot-11 forward from Luther, Oklahoma, Eddens will join the ORU women's basketball team for the 2018-19 season. She plays high school basketball with the OKC Storm. Competing in the National Christian Homeschool Basketball championships, Eddens' team won the NCHBC 2012 – 12U Championship and the 2013 – 14U Championhip with a 52-0 season. Her 2014 – 14U, 2015 – 18U and 2017 – 18 U teams all finished runner-up.

"We are very proud to add Raelene Eddens to our ORU family," Head Coach Misti Cussen said. "Raelene's length and scoring ability are going to be a great addition to our forward position. She will be a wonderful fit for ORU on and off of the court."

Eddens averaged 14.1 points her freshman year, 16.3 points her sophomore year and 12.0 points her junior year. In 2016, she set a single game career high 35 points against the NCHBC champions. She was the 2012 – 12U NCHBC MVP and the regional player of the year. She made the 2015 Jenks and Union Invitational All-Tournament teams and was named the 2017 NCHBC junior post player of the year as well as a Maravich finalist.

"I love the coaches and the staff as well as the faith-based institution," Eddens said. "I like the sense of security and the close proximity to home." 

A dual sport athlete, Eddens plays high school softball for the OKC Broncos and runs track for the OKC Storm. She was recruited by Wichita State and Central Oklahoma. Her favorite professional team is the Oklahoma City Thunder and her favorite pro athlete is Russell Westbrook.

High School: Averaged 14.1 points, 1.5 assists, 8.4 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 0.9 blocks her freshman season … 16.3 points, 3.2 assists, 10.9 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.6 blocks her sophomore season … 12.0 points, 1.8 assists, 6.6 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.6 blocks her junior year for the OKC Storm.

Personal: Daughter of John and Hellen Eddens… She plans to major in accounting … Cousin is LaNesia Williams, who played basketball at the University of Oklahoma 2014-18.
