NEWTON, Kan. – The Oral Roberts women's golf team is in fifth place in a tight race after round one of The Summit League Women's Golf Championship, which kicked off Sunday. ORU shot 325, but is just four shots off the lead, held by South Dakota State at 321.

News and Notes
- ORU has three golfers inside the top 15 individually, led by Sarah Bell who sits in a tie for seventh.

- With windy conditions, ORU had just six birdies on the day, two of which came from Isabella Caamal.

- ORU played well on the short holes, with Caamal playing them to a -1, 2.75 average, the second best average in the field. Megan Lee and Beatriz Garcia each played them to an even par 3.00 average, tied for third in the field.

- Bell is tied for first with an even par 5.00 average on the par five holes. Bell is also second in the field with 11 pars, while Lee and Caamal are each tied for fourth with 10 pars.
