TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 exhibition match to regional foe Arkansas Thursday night at the Case Soccer Complex. Carly Hoke's golden-goal in the 51st minute sealed the Razorback win.
Defense held steady in the first half for both teams as ORU held Arkansas to seven shots to open the match. An aggressive style of play from the opponent held the Golden Eagles to just two shots in the period.
Arkansas came out firing in the second half, scoring a goal just six minutes in the half on a chip shot from inside the box.
The Golden Eagles were only able to get one shot on goal in the second half as the visitors rotated fresh players on the field to keep up the frantic pace.
Carly Hoke flipped in the only goal of the game in the 51st minute to put Arkansas ahead for good. The goal came off a cross from the left side of the field by Dee Dee Gordan that was chipped back by Alexandra Fischer for the easy goal.

Ashley Martin (1) and Sierra Beall (2) recorded the only shots on goal for the Golden Eagles in the match.
Maddie Rhodes saved nine shots while allowing just a lone goal in 90 minutes of action in net.
Katie Moore led the Razorbacks with two shots, with one on target. Arkansas outshot ORU, 14-3 on the night.
ORU will open the regular season at home next Friday against MIssissippi Valley State at 7 p.m.
