STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oral Roberts women's soccer team dropped its final nonconference match of the season to Oklahoma State, 8-0, Friday night in Stillwater.

"We played well from the first whistle, and certainly appeared to deserve more out of the game the first half hour. The reserves played in different combinations when they came in, and it took them quite a while to settle into the match," said head coach Roger Bush.

ORU played tonight without a handful of regulars who are recovering from injury and combined that with a liberal use of the bench. "It is a tough order for reserves to come in against a perennial national contender and program such as Oklahoma State. We recognize that and give a ton of credit to OSU," Rogers added.

The Golden Eagles replied immediately after going down a goal, and struck the OSU crossbar twice within the next two minutes.

A season high 24 Golden Eagles saw the field tonight against the Cowgirls, which was every eligible and non-injured player available on the night.  Notably Sam Forgione received her first career start, and Keely Hohenberger received her first action as a Golden Eagle in goal, turning in a couple of dandy saves.

"As the last nonconference game of the season, this was an opportunity to rest a few legs, to answer some questions about squad depth, and to tinker a bit with personnel," Rogers said.

Oral Roberts was limited on offense throughout the match, taking just six shots on the night with only two shots on goal.

As chances were limited, the Golden Eagles were called for only one offsides ending the team's chance at a goal in the second minute of play.

OSU blew the match open in the final 16 minutes of play in the first half as the Cowgirls reeled off three goals before heading into the locker room ahead, 4-0.

"We have another big test in front of us this Sunday and focus has already shifted there. Sunday's match is relevant to our goal and we are reminded that that goal is still very much within sight. Tonight was a revelation of character, and our spirit to be persistent in our commitment to the battle is a good indication of who we are."
