TULSA, Okla. -- Oral Roberts women's soccer head coach Roger Bush announced the team's upcoming schedule for the 2019 campaign on Monday. The schedule features 12 matches at home, two power five conference opponents and three matches against NCAA Tournament qualifiers from last season.
"Our program is excited to return games to our community's home base in Tulsa for 2019 after playing a majority of 2018 away from Case Soccer Complex," Bush said. "The opportunity and challenge of competing against NCAA tournament teams, and nationally ranked teams is one we embrace enthusiastically. The 2019 schedule of both nonconference and conference fixtures, we believe is great for our home fans, and also unquestionably includes a slate of opponents that sets a standard that requires our max effort for 2019. We are grateful for the opportunity that the 2019 schedule presents."
For the second time in three seasons Kansas State will visit the Case Soccer Complex. The Wildcats will be the team's only exhibition contest that will be August 17. The Golden Eagles will open the regular season with Rice and Arkansas-Pine Bluff, August 22 and 24, before hitting the road against top-50 ranked and NCAA Tournament contender Texas Tech to round out the month of August.
The Golden Eagles will face Oklahoma State, a top-10 team in 2018, September 1 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. ORU will return home for a match against 2018 A10 Conference Champion, Saint Louis, September 6, followed by Grambling State, September 8. After a trip to south Texas to face UTSA and Lamar, September 13 and 15, the Golden Eagles will have their next six matches at home.
ORU will conclude the nonconference slate against WAC regular season champions UMKC followed by Chicago State and Florida Atlantic, September 20, 22 and 26. Summit League champion, Denver, will open league play at the Case Soccer Complex, October 6. South Dakota State and North Dakota State will be in town to compete October 11 and 13. The Golden Eagles will then play North Dakota, Omaha and Western Illinois, October 17, 20 and 27 all on the road. The women's team will host South Dakota, October 31, at home for senior night.
To close out the 2019 regular season, ORU will visit Purdue Fort Wayne, November 3. The top four teams will advance to the Summit League tournament Nov. 7-9 for a chance at the Summit League's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
