Oral Roberts Takes on In-State Foe Oklahoma State

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team will square off with in-state foe Oklahoma State in Stillwater on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. at Neal Patterson Stadium.

Colin Carmichael is in his 15th season leading Oklahoma State with a 191-81-39 record. Carmichael returns 15 Cowgirls from the 2018 squad that finished 10-7-1 overall and 2-6-1 in the Big 12. After winning the season opener, 3-0, at Lamar in Beaumont, Texas, OSU tied Oklahoma 2-2 on Thursday, Aug. 29. Senior midfielder Jaci Jones leads the Cowgirls with seven points and three goals in two games.


Oklahoma State will be the third Big 12 opponent that ORU has squared off against in 2019. The Golden Eagles hosted Kansas State in an exhibition on Saturday, Aug. 17, losing 4-1. Most recently ORU traveled to Lubbock, Texas, falling to Texas Tech 4-0.


The Golden Eagles have defeated the Cowgirls twice in 14 meetings, while OSU has won the last 10 meetings in the series. ORU last traveled to Stillwater in 2016 dropping the match 4-1.


Head Coach Roger Bush is back for his seventh season leading the Golden Eagles, after six seasons Bush has a 57-54-9 record at ORU. This will be the third time Bush has coached against Oklahoma State posting an 0-2-0 record. Student-athletes under Bush have earned 26 all-conference honors, 13 player of the week awards and two have earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. Bush was named the 2016 Summit League Women's Coach of the Year.


A year after finishing 3-5-0 in league play, the Golden Eagles were picked to finish seventh in the 2019 Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll. Senior midfielder Jordan Langenbartels was one of 13 athletes named to the The Summit League Players to Watch List, Langenbartels led the Golden Eagles with career-highs in goals (7) and points (18) despite only appearing in 15 of 20 matches.


ORU fell to Texas Tech 4-0 on Thursday, Aug. 29, in Lubbock, Texas. The Golden Eagles recorded six corner kicks to the Red Raiders five in the match, freshman keeper Allison Austin recorded nine saves on the night. Pamela Caballeros led the team with two shots.
