Oral Roberts Host Grambling State in Sunday Matchup

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team will play host to Grambling State in a Sunday matinee matchup on Sept. 8, at 1 p.m., at Case Soccer Complex.

Grambling State is led by third year head coach Just Wagar, who has guided to the Lady Tigers to a 28-14-2 record during his tenure. In 2018, GSU compiled a 14-8 record, while winning the Grambling State's first conference championship in over a decade. Grambling State is 1-2 in 2019 when playing on the road conceding losses to Arkansas-Little Rock and Tulsa, while its lone road victory came on Aug. 22, at LSU-Shreveport.


The Golden Eagles have posted a 1-4-0 record on the young 2019 season, including losses to Texas Tech (4-0), Oklahoma State (4-0) and Saint Louis (2-0). After losing the season opener to Rice, 2-1, ORU showed promise on Aug. 24, defeating the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 7-0.

Defenders Brooklyn Eardley and Mackenzi Kirschner, along with keeper Allison Austin have played the full 90 minutes in the past two matches. Austin is the only Golden Eagle to of played 90-plus minutes in four or more matches this season.


Oral Roberts is 0-4-0 when donning the gold uniforms in 2019. The Golden Eagles are 1-0 when they wear the blue and gold.


Head Coach Roger Bush is back for his seventh season leading the Golden Eagles, after six seasons Bush has a 57-56-9 record at ORU. Student-athletes under Bush have earned 26 all-conference honors, 13 player of the week awards and two have earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. Bush was named the 2016 Summit League Women's Coach of the Year.


A year after finishing 3-5-0 in league play, the Golden Eagles were picked to finish seventh in the 2019 Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll. Senior midfielder Jordan Langenbartels was one of 13 athletes named to the The Summit League Players to Watch List, Langenbartels led the Golden Eagles with career-highs in goals (7) and points (18) despite only appearing in 15 of 20 matches.
