SCOUTING THE ROOS
Chris Cissell is in his ninth season leading the Roos with an overall record of 95-60-20. In 2018 he led the Roos to the WAC regular season championship title with a 7-1 record, while compiling a 16-5 overall record. The 2019 squad is led by forward Ryan Childers, the sophomore leads Kansas City in points (15), goals (5) and assists (5). As a team the Roos have a .500 shots on goal percentage, while holding its opponents to only .388%.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. KANSAS CITY
This will be the ninth meeting between the two universities and the first since the 2017 season when the Golden Eagles defeated the Roos, 2-1, on Aug. 18. ORU leads the series record 4-2-2 and is 3-1-1 when hosting Kansas City.
LAST TIME OUT
Oral Roberts handed Chicago State its worse defeat of the 2019 campaign, 8-1. Seven different Golden Eagles found the back of the net, while true freshman Mia Kitterman led the team with two goals. Marina Solberg, Kelli Keller and Pamela Caballeros each recorded their first goal of the season. Most notably, all 31 active Golden Eagles played nine or more minutes.
Attackers Martha Helsee, Drishana Pillay and Shayla Padilla each have 10 or more points on the season. Pillay leads the trio with five goals and one assist, totalling 11 points. Helsee is not far behind with four goals and two assists for ten points, while Padilla has four assists and three goals for ten points.
ALL-TIME WATCH LIST
Senior forward Jordan Langebartels is three goals away from breaking into the ORU all-time top-10 list. The Tulsa native currently has 15 career goals in 53 games played, former Golden Eagle Ashley Aldrich (1996-99) is No. 10 on the all-time list with 18 career goals.
HOME FOR AWHILE
The Golden Eagles are in game two of a six game home stand that will round out non-conference play with a matchup against Florida Atlantic (Sept. 26). The Golden Eagles then start league play hosting the preseason top-three favorites beginning with Denver (Oct. 6), South Dakota State (Oct. 10) and North Dakota State (Oct. 13).
MISTER ROGER'S NEIGHBORHOOD
Head Coach Roger Bush is back for his seventh season leading the Golden Eagles, after six seasons Bush has a 58-57-10 record at ORU. Student-athletes under Bush have earned 26 all-conference honors, 13 player of the week awards and two have earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. Bush was named the 2016 Summit League Women's Coach of the Year.
SUMMIT LEAGUE OUTLOOK
A year after finishing 3-5-0 in league play, the Golden Eagles were picked to finish seventh in the 2019 Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll. Senior midfielder Jordan Langenbartels was one of 13 athletes named to the The Summit League Players to Watch List, Langenbartels led the Golden Eagles with career-highs in goals (7) and points (18) despite only appearing in 15 of 20 matches.
