TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts University women's tennis team got back on the winning track Wednesday with a 4-3 victory over Oklahoma Baptist at La Fortune Park.

The Golden Eagles jumped out with an early point winning all three doubles matches. ORU needed a solid effort from the middle of the lineup to stave off the Bison that included decisive wins at No. 3 and No. 5 singles.

Match Recap
- Senior Marizanne Bouwer helped ORU as she dominated at No. 3 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Olivia Charvat. Bouwer improved to 5-1 at the No. 3 position and won her eighth match of the season.
- Ximena Puentes also registered an impressive 6-0, 6-1 victory for her team best ninth win of the year. Puentes is now 9-7 overall and 3-2 at no. 5 singles.
- The No. 4 singles position saw the Golden Eagles capture an exciting 6-4, 6-3 win from Brenda Mercado. It was her fifth win of the season.
- Mercado and Andrada Gordan dominated at the No.1 doubles position, 8-0. It was the first time this season the duo paired in doubles to move to 1-0.
- Petya Simeonova and Nika Munoz earned an exciting 8-6 victory at the No. 3 doubles position improving to 2-1.

Up Next
The Golden Eagles close the regular season April 17 at Summit League foe Denver. The match is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
