ORU Women’s Tennis Signs Gorana Kadijevic

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's tennis team signed Gorana Kadijevic from Omis, Croatia, on Thursday, June 15.

  • Was top-50 in women's tennis in Croatia in 2015 and 2016. 
  • Won the State Championship in doubles in U16. Won the U18 Sportske Igre Mladih in Splitu.
  • In regional action she won more than 15 tournaments.
  • Internationally, she went to the finals in U16 doubles in Mali Losinj (Europe Tennis); semifinals in U16 doubles in Rijeka; semifinals in U16 doubles in Vinkovici; quarterfinals in U16 singles in Vinkovci.
  • In 2014, she was ranked 1381 in ITF U18.
  • In 2013, she was ranked 402 in Europe U16; 46 in Croatia women's tennis; 22 in U18 Croatia; 8 in U16 Croatia.
  • In 2012, she was ranked 507 in Europe U16 and 293 in Europe U14.

"I chose ORU because it's a great university and it's a great opportunity to play tennis and study at the same time," Kadijevic said. "I've always wanted to study in America so this is a dream come true for me. The reason I chose ORU is because it has the best academics and the best athletic department. The people there are amazing and I think I will have the best time of my life. I can't wait to be a part of ORU family."

"Gorana will be a great addition to the tennis team. She is a strong player with a stature of 5'10," Head Coach Beverly Dawson said. "I am excited to see how she will grow athletically and spiritually at ORU."
