TULSA – The Oral Roberts University volleyball team opens its 2015 home schedule Wednesday against UT Arlington inside the Aerobics Center at 7 p.m.
The Golden Eagles continue a busy week in Tulsa as they will host cross-town rival the University of Tulsa Friday at 6 p.m. ORU will close out non-conference action Saturday as they head to the north side of town for the Golden Hurricane Invitational with matches against North Texas and Houston Baptist.

► The Oral Roberts University volleyball team continues it tough non-conference schedule which ranks in the top 100 and is also the second toughest among Summit League teams. ORU will play four matches in four days starting with UT Arlington on Wednesday and a Friday night meeting with cross-town rival Tulsa. Saturday the Golden Eagles will head to the Reynolds Center for the Golden Hurricane Invitational with matches against North Texas and Houston Baptist.
► Laura Milos continues a solid sophomore season as she ranks in the top 10 nationally with 4.77 kills per set to lead all Summit League players. She also ranks 20th in points per set at 4.98.
► Milos has tallied double figure kills in seven of the Golden Eagles first nine matches including a 33 against Marquette. That number is the third best single-match mark in the nation behind Daly Santana of Minnesota's 39 and Jale Hervey of UCF who posted 34.
► Sophomore setter, Lucija Bojanjac has also picked up where she left off after her freshman season. Bojanjac leads all Summit League players averaging 10.56 assists per set which also ranks 52nd in NCAA Division I.
► Shelby Cox has been the most efficient hitter for the Golden Eagles and one of the most in The Summit League. Cox carries a .401 hitting percentage after the first nine matches, second best in The Summit League and 50th in the nation.
► As a team the Golden Eagles rank third in The Summit League in hitting percentage with a .235 team percentage. The number also places ORU in the top 100 nationally as Denver leads the league with a .250 hitting clip.
► With an emphasis on defense this season for ORU, the Golden Eagles have seen an 18 percent increase in blocks. As a team ORU has totaled 59 blocks this season and are led by Shelby Cox and Jovana Poljasevic pace ORU with 26 and 25 blocks respectively.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
► UT Arlington comes to the Aerobics Center Wednesday for the first home match of 2015 for ORU with an 8-3 record. The Mavs fell to Arkansas at the Razorback Invite on Saturday snapping a five match win streak. UTA also pushed Summit League Champion Denver to five sets falling 3-2 at the Pioneer Invitational.
► Friday's opponent, Tulsa will try to snap a three-match losing streak against ORU entering at 3-6 on the year. TU has also played the 17th toughest schedule in the nation and are led by Erica Bohannon with a 3.53 kills per set average. Sophie Bethke helps pace the offense averaging 10.17 assists per set.
► North Texas will host Stephen F. Austin before traveling to Tulsa for the Golden Hurricane Invitational and starting the week with a 5-6 mark. The Mean Green are led by Carnae Dillard with a 5.07 kills per set average and Amy Henard averaging 9.24 assists per set.
► Houston Baptist will also participate in the Golden Hurricane Classic on Saturday entering with a 7-4 record. Jessica Wooten leads HBU as she ranks in the top 25 nationally in service aces (19) and aces per set at 0.51.
UP NEXT FOR ORU
ORU will open the 2015 Summit League schedule on the road at North Dakota State Sept. 25. The Golden Eagles will close the road swing Sept. 26 at South Dakota State.
