ORU's Sirola Gets Win No. 250 as Golden Eagles Close Road Trip with Straight-Set Win at Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Oral Roberts volleyball team got back to its winning ways Saturday night picking up a decisive three-set victory over Fort Wayne in The Summit League play (25-22, 25-20, 25-18) giving head coach Sheera Sirola her 250th career victory.


Lucija Bojanjac put together an all-around performance for the Golden Eagles posting a double-double with 29 set assists and 10 digs in handing the Mastodons just their second loss in conference play this season. Laura Milos tallied 20 kills pacing the offense as ORU won for the fourth time in five matches evening its record in league play at 4-4.


Inside the Box Score

  • Coach Sirola won her 250th career match behind the bench of the Golden Eagles Saturday increasing her already program-best win total.
  • ORU led wire-to-wire in both the first and last sets of the match and used a late run to erase a second-set deficit in the sweep.
  • The Golden Eagles controlled the net totaling seven blocks compared to just two for the Mastodons. Taylan Nero paced the defense with five block assists and Milos added three, while Megan Doran contributed the only solo block.
  • Doran made the most of her return to the starting lineup as the sophomore tallied her second-most kills of the season with seven.
  • Milos now has registered double-figure kills in 19 of her 20 appearances this season.
  • ORU again showcased its aggressive serving style posting seven aces on the night, led by Katarina Mikulic's three.
  • Nicole Rightnowar led the Fort Wayne offense as the only player to reach double-digit kills with 13.
