ORU Volleyball Returns Home for Pair with Coyotes, Bison

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts volleyball team (12-10 overall, 4-4 SL) begins the second half of The Summit League schedule Friday night playing host to league-leading South Dakota before a matchup with North Dakota State Saturday night at the Aerobics Center.

Both matches, scheduled for 7 p.m., will be streamed live, exclusively through the ORU Athletics Facebook page, while live stats will be available at

Quick Hits

►The Golden Eagles enter the second half of The Summit League portion of the schedule after an even 4-4 record heading into home matchups against league-leading South Dakota (Oct. 21) and North Dakota State (Oct. 22).  ORU is 3-1 at home during conference action and tallied its lone road win in its last outing at Fort Wayne Oct. 15.

►USD enters the match with a 7-1 league record boasting a conference-best 13.28 assists per set and 18.09 digs per set. NDSU is tied with ORU in fifth place at 4-4, but dropped three of its last four, all coming in five sets.

►For the fourth time in eight weeks this season, an ORU player was named  The Summit League's Offensive Player of the Week after Laura Milos picked up the honor Oct. 17.  It was her third time landing the honor in 2016 and ninth of her storied career, while junior Shelby Cox earned the title for the first time in her career Oct. 10.

►Both Milos and Lucija Bojanjac jumped up the ORU career leaderboards during its last road trip. While Milos remains fifth all-time in kills, she crossed the 1,500 mark and now has 1,502 career kills. Bojanjac moved up to fourth in career assists with 3,265 during her three-year career.

►ORU completed the nonconference schedule with an 8-6  record including a thrilling 3-0 sweep of Arkansas in the home opener. It was the third win in a row for ORU in the series against the Razorbacks and came in front of an Aerobics Center record crowd of 1,272 fans.

►Milos has continued her success on the court from last season earning national recognition. The junior leads the nation in aces per set (0.80) and ranks in the top-10 nationally in several other categories. The Porec, Croatia native ranks second in points per set (6.61), attacks per set (14.07) and service aces (59), while ranking third in kills per set (5.64), fourth in points (489), fifth in total kills (417) and 15th in triple doubles (1). She also is The Summit League's leader in seven statistical categories in 2016.

►One constant for the Golden Eagles this year has been the play of its setter in Lucija Bojanjac. The junior leads the team with 728 assists on the year, while ranking fifth in The Summit League. In a 33-set performance against Arkansas, Bojanjac joined the 3,000 assists club and now has 3,265 for her career.

►As a team, Oral Roberts tops all 329 NCAA Division I programs in the country in service aces with 163 on the season led by Laura Milos who is second in the nation with 59. The team also is second nationally at 2.01 aces per set in its aggressive style of offense.
