TULSA, Okla. – With emotions running high on Senior Night, the Oral Roberts volleyball team soared to a 3-0 (29-27, 25-23, 25-21) sweep of Fort Wayne Friday night in The Summit League.


Laura Milos led an efficient offense with 21 kills as the Golden Eagles hit .333 for the match in a contest that featured 42 tie scores and 16 lead changes. With both teams having already clinched a spot in the conference championships, the match was still critical for seeding as each is battling to move up in the standings on the final weekend of the regular season.


Inside the Box Score

  • Milos, the reigning Summit League Offensive Player of the Week, recorded 20 or more kills for the 15th time in 2016. The junior added four service aces and eight digs.
  • Lucija Bojanjac helped control the offense tallying 43 set assists and was one dig shy of a double-double finishing with nine.
  • Maggie DiPronio posted an impressive night defensively for ORU with a team-leading 10 digs, reaching double figures for the fourth time this season.
  • Shelby Cox registered a .438 hitting percentage getting 10 kills on 16 swings, while Karyn Chrisman put down the match-sealing kill as one of her nine on the night for a team-best .462 hitting percentage.
  • Senior Kari Anderson was recognized prior to the match along with graduate assistant athletic trainer Brian Rios and Nika Mostahinic on Senior Night.
  • The Mastodons had only five players post a kill getting nine each from Lauren Hoffman, Nicole Rightnowar and Somer Johnson to pace the team.

ORU closes the 2016 regular season at the Aerobics Center hosting IUPUI for a Sunday matinee at 1:30 p.m. The winner of the match will earn the No. 5 seed in the upcoming conference tournament in Denver.
