TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts volleyball team makes a lengthy trek for a pair of weekend matches in The Summit League heading to Purdue Fort Wayne for a Friday night contest with the Mastodons. The Golden Eagles then close the trip facing the Fighting Leathernecks of Western Illinois in a Sunday afternoon matinee.



•ORU continues its three-match road swing in The Summit League for contests against Purdue Fort Wayne and Western Illinois, teams it holds a combined 52-12 record against all-time, as it looks for its first win in conference play.


•Libero Tori Roe currently ranks 41st in the nation totaling 305 digs, reaching 20 or more in a match eight times this season, including a career-best 28 on four occasions. The senior ranks second in the conference averaging 4.92 digs per set helping ORU rank 33rd in the NCAA in that category. She currently ranks fourth in ORU history with 1,378 digs after becoming the program's 10th player to eclipse 1,000 digs last season.


•Five hitters have posted 90 or more kills in 2018 with Katarina Mikulic taking over the team behind 128 kills. CeCe Madison used a career-high 23 kills last Sunday against South Dakota to increase her team-leading kills per set average to 3.03, ranking sixth in the league.


Bria Bergman has averaged 9.31 assists per set, ranking sixth in the league, after a career-high 56 set assists at North Dakota. The senior is the top attacking setter in the conference with 65 kills and paces the Golden Eagles with eight double-doubles this year.


•ORU has picked up the consistency at the net in 2018 recording 1.94 blocks per set. Sophomore Morgan Blomquist moved up to third in The Summit League in total blocks (63) after putting down a career-best nine blocks Friday at UND and also ranks sixth with 1.02 blocks per set.


•Purdue Fort Wayne enters the weekend .500 in league play (2-2) following a pair of road losses to South Dakota and Omaha, but won both matches at home opening weekend. Offensively, Nicole Rightnowar leads the Mastodons and the conference averaging 4.0 kills per set swinging nearly 50 times per match. Western Illinois remains winless in the conference (0-4) and has lost 16-straight contests since a win in its season opener.


•Head Coach Sheera Sirola, ORU's all-time winningest coach, welcomed two newcomers to the lineup, both freshmen, as setter Sylvia Lawson (Joplin, Missouri) and outside hitter Inka Inkret (Ivanec, Croatia) joined the squad for 2018. Inkret become a go-to option offensively leading the team in kills three times, including a season-high 16 against the Fighting Hawks.


•The Golden Eagles have reached the conference tournament each of the last six seasons, including a spot in the 2017 championship match. ORU made its first postseason appearance since 2006 when it was invited to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship last year.
