MACOMB, Ill. – Behind brilliant blocking and a balanced offense, the Oral Roberts volleyball team controlled Western Illinois in a four-set victory (25-20, 25-21, 10-25, 25-12) Sunday afternoon at Western Hall.


The Golden Eagles forced WIU into 17 attack errors with eight total blocks as they raced out to a two-set advantage. Eight attackers recorded at least two kills as ORU registered its second-straight Summit League win on the road, while the victory also extends its win streak over the Fighting Leathernecks to 17 matches.


WIU scored an 11-2 run to open the third stanza on its way to a set win cutting into the ORU lead. The Golden Eagles responded by overpowering the home side to secure the decision with a commanding 13-point victory in the fourth frame by hitting .367.


Inside the Box Score

  • Bri Greenlee picked up right where she left off Friday and set a new career high totaling four solo blocks, including the clinching point of set two. The junior put down seven block assists, reaching double digits for the second-consecutive match, and added seven kills on 14 swings (.429 hitting percentage).
  • Inka Inkret was the only player to reach double-figure kills for the Golden Eagles tallying 11 behind a season-high .360 hitting percentage.
  • Tori Roe paced the defense as the senior posted 19 digs and led the team with two service aces.
  • Bria Bergman ran the offense with 37 set assists and added eight digs.
