Home-Heavy Slate Awaits #ORUVB in 2019

Full Schedule

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts volleyball team released its 29-match schedule for the 2019 season featuring 13 home matches at the Kenneth H. Cooper Aerobics Center. More than a third of the campaign is against a team that reached the postseason in 2018 as it is one of the program's most challenging slates.

The Golden Eagles 13 home contests is the most since playing 15 times during the 2008 season. ORU has a chance to get off to a great start as five of its first eight matches are at home, including five straight from Sept. 3-11. That stretch is highlighted by the 2019 ORU Invitational Sept. 6-7 where it hosts Illinois State, Little Rock and Air Force, followed by a mid-week test against cross-town rival Tulsa Sept. 11.

ORU closes non-conference action at perennial power Minnesota in the Diet Coke Classic Sept. 20-21 facing Clemson before battling the nationally-ranked Golden Gophers, one of six tests against a team that reached the NCAA Tournament a season ago. The Golden Eagles also take on four teams that reached the NIVC Tournament in 2018.

Summit League matches get underway Sept. 27 on the road at South Dakota, the reigning conference tournament champion, before three-consecutive contests at home starting with five-time defending regular season champion Denver Sept. 29. ORU ends the season away from Tulsa traveling north for contests against North Dakota Nov. 15 and North Dakota State Nov. 17.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a 9-19 campaign in 2018 where they finished tied for fifth in The Summit League standings.
