TULSA, Okla. – After closing a six-match homestand Wednesday, the Oral Roberts volleyball team hits the road for its next six contests starting Sept. 13-14 at the UCA Invitational in Conway, Arkansas. The Golden Eagles face Little Rock Friday at 4 p.m. before a doubleheader Saturday against Central Arkansas at 10:30 a.m. and Ole Miss at 2:30 p.m.

•ORU is back on the road for an extended time closing non-conference action trying to erase a 1-4 record over its last five matches. The Golden Eagles entered the 2019 campaign picked fourth in The Summit League standings returning 81 percent of their total kills from eight letter winners.

CeCe Madison leads the ORU offense with 3.71 kills per set and has recorded a double-double in each of her last five outings, started by a career-high 25 kills against SMU. She has been named to the all-tournament team in each of the first two weekends of competition in 2019.

•Libero Sarah Thiessen has helped ORU to the second-most digs in the NCAA this season as the Jenks, Oklahoma, native leads the team with 154 digs averaging 4.40 per set.

•Senior Bri Greenlee posted a career-best 109 total blocks in 2018 and leads the Golden Eagles with 24 block assists this year. The senior jumped to eighth in ORU history after registering eight block assists Saturday in the doubleheader.

•A pair of freshmen continue to make an impact in the Golden Eagles lineup as setter Sylvia Lawson is averaging nearly 10 set assists per set, while Laura Shoopman has topped the team in kills three times, including 21 versus Louisiana Tech.

•The Golden Eagles have a winning record or are tied in the all-time series with all three opponents at the UCA Invitational. ORU holds a 21-9 mark against Little Rock after a sweep last weekend in Tulsa, while the series against the Bears (6-6) and Rebels (1-1) are tied.

•Head Coach Sheera Sirola, ORU's all-time winningest coach, added five newcomers to the roster for 2019, including four freshmen. Kalli Caddell is the lone junior college transfer, while Mackenzie Edwards, Sakira LaCour, Laura Shoopman and Jeslyn Spencer all are in their first collegiate season.

•ORU has three players to replace in the lineup with the graduation of libero Tori Roe, setter Bria Bergman and outside hitter Lara Picht. Roe was the fourth player in ORU history to reach the 1,500-dig milestone, while Bergman totaled 9.65 assists per set and Picht added 2.30 kills per set.

•The Golden Eagles have reached the conference tournament six of the last seven seasons and will try to utilize 13 home matches to bounce back from only their ninth losing season in program history. It is one of the most challenge schedules to date as more than a third of ORU's slate is against a team that reached the postseason in 2018.
