The NCAA announced its Public Recognition Awards this week, including three Oral Roberts teams; men's and women's golf and men's cross country. It is the third year in a row in which the ORU women's golf team has earned the distinction and the second year in a row for the men's golf team.
Senior Bryce Choate (track & field) and junior Tatum Grigsby (women’s soccer) have been selected to represent Oral Roberts University, and The Summit League, at the 2019 NCAA Leadership Forum this April in Orlando, Florida.
The Oral Roberts cross country teams competed in the 2018 Summit League Championship Saturday morning at Miracle Hill in Omaha. Bryce Choate was ORU’s top finisher (38th) on the men’s side, while Jessica Romero (47th) was the top women’s finisher.
The Oral Roberts cross country teams made their second trip of the season to Rim Rock Farm as the Golden Eagles competed in the Rim Rock Farm Classic, Saturday morning. A total of 33 teams and more than 330 runners competed at the event.
Oral Roberts' freshmen Braden Clapp and Sharon Jepkemoi have been tabbed The Summit League Cross Country Male and Female Athletes of the Week after competing in the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. this past weekend. More than 860 runners competed in the festival this year, with 100 teams taking the course.
