TULSA, Okla. Oklahoma
State's Kasey Langdon netted the game-winner in the 65th minute as
nationally-ranked OSU defeated Oral Roberts University, 1-0, on
Sunday night at the ORU Soccer Complex.
ORU (4-9-3) held their ground
against #10 nationally-ranked OSU on senior night for the Golden
Eagles. All six seniors started the game and played significant
roles in the home team's opportunity to defeat the in-state
rival.
Senior goalkeeper Mandy
Evans (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) recorded six saves and had
several big stops to keep the Golden Eagles in the match.
OSU finally got a ball past Evans
when Langdon scored at the 64:52 mark. Langdon's goal, which was
her third of the year, was assisted by Sasa Jackson and Jesyca
Rosholt.
OSU held a 20-7 edge in the match
on shots, while having eight shots on-goal. The Cowgirls also held
an 11-3 advantage on corner kicks.
Emily Gagnon
(Broken Arrow, Okla.) led the Golden Eagles offense with three
shots. Four other players had a shot a piece for ORU.
Oklahoma State improved to 14-2-2
on the year.
ORU returns to action on Thursday
when they travel to Little Rock, Ark. to play Arkansas-Little Rock
in their last game of the year. The match is slated for a 5:00 pm
start time.
