Why ORU?
If you are an athlete with a passion for spirit, teamwork, and excellence, Oral Roberts University (ORU) provides an incredible opportunity to continue growing your skills at the collegiate level. ORU offers an outstanding education with 63 majors and a Christ-centered environment focused on helping students thrive academically, athletically, and personally.
Golden Eagle student-athletes compete in 16 NCAA Division I sports. Our spirit squads play a vital role in representing ORU with energy, professionalism, and school pride. Our program seeks students who want to contribute to an encouraging team culture and positively impact the ORU community.
About the ORU Spirit Program
The ORU Spirit Squads are dedicated to supporting Golden Eagle Athletics and creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm on game days, campus events, community appearances, and national competitions. We focus on developing well-rounded student-athletes who excel in:
- Leadership and character
- Collegiate-level technical skills
- Academic commitment
- Personal and spiritual growth
- Teamwork, responsibility, and professionalism
Our Cheer and Pom athletes are ambassadors of the university and play an important role in representing ORU’s values and culture.
