LITTLE ROCK, Ark. Oral Roberts
University women's soccer team finished their season on a high note
defeating Arkansas-Little Rock, 2-0, on Thursday night in Little
Rock.
The Golden Eagles (5-9-3) came out of the
gates aggressively as they peppered 13 shots towards the Trojans
(5-13) net in the first frame. Senior Tamara
Waller (Sapulpa, Okla.) scored the game-winner and her
fifth of the season in the 16th minute. Teammate Gentry
Detter (Claremore, Okla.) had her team-leading ninth
assist on Waller's goal.
ORU added another tally in the second half
with Emily Gagnon (Broken Arrow, Okla.) scoring
her sixth goal of the year at the 48:08 mark. Lindsey Cook (Tulsa,
Okla.) found Gagnon open by the side of the net as the junior
Gagnon buried it in the back of the net.
In all, ORU out shot UALR, 22-19, but the
Trojans held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
Goalkeeper Mandy Evans
(Cedar Rapids, Iowa) recorded her third shut out of the year with
10 saves. UALR goalkeeper Ashley Boccarossa had nine saves, while
facing 11 shots.
