STILLWATER, Okla.
Oklahoma State scored three goals in the second-half to
defeat Oral Roberts University, 3-0, on Friday night in
Stillwater.
With the
loss, the Golden Eagles fall to 7-6-2, while the 18th-ranked
Cowgirls improved to 10-3-2 on the season.
The Golden
Eagles held their own in the first-half against the
nationally-ranked Cowgirls. ORU was out-shot 9-3 in the first
frame, but goalkeeper Stef Gurley recorded one save to keep OSU
off the board.
Marissa
Ranberger had a chance to get ORU the early lead but her shot
at the 34:16 mark was steered away by OSU's goalie Erin
Stigler.
The Cowgirls
came out aggressive in the second half, resulting in three
second-half goals. Forward Adriane Radtke put OSU on top with her
fourth goal of the year at the 50:32 mark. Kasey Langdon assisted
on Radtke's goal.
OSU added
insurance goals in the 59th and 67th minute en route to building a
3-0 advantage. Yolanda Odenyo and Annika Niemeier scored both of
the goals for Oklahoma State, respectively.
The Golden
Eagles were out-shot in the contest, 22-9, while OSU held a 6-0
edge in corner kicks.
Brittany
Winslow had three shots, two on-goal to lead the Golden Eagle
offensive attack. Shakira Duncan and Tara
Lomas had two shots each also for ORU.
ORU returns
to action on Tuesday, hosting Northeastern State at the ORU Soccer
Complex at 7 p.m.
