WACO, Texas – Oral Roberts University's women's team saw their season come to an end on Friday night when fifth-ranked Baylor defeated the Golden Eagles, 5-0, in the first round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships on Friday night at Baylor Tennis Center.

ORU ended with a 9-11 overall mark while Baylor advances to the second round with a 29-2 record.

The Bears won two quick matches in doubles play as Taylor Ormond and Jelena Stanivuk blanked Hayden Rush and Anna Costa 8-0. Emily Arkell and Rafaela Souza then fell to sixth-ranked Zuzana Zemenova and Lenka Broosova, 8-3, at number one doubles to clinch the point for Baylor.

In singles play, Baylor won in straight sets at No. 2, 3, 5 and 6 singles to claim the match. No. 43 Ormond started off for Baylor with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Rush. No. 18 Broosova followed suit at 6-0, 6-0 against Souza at number three singles. Baylor wrapped things up when the Lady Bears' Stanivuk and Karolina Filipiak completed matches simultaneously, with Stanivuk defeating Costa 6-2, 6-1, while Filipiak downed Corrine Langston 6-0, 6-1, to give the match to Baylor.
