TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts University
women's soccer team looks to rebound from a hard-fought loss at
Oklahoma on Friday as they play host to Arkansas State on Sunday at
the Case Soccer Complex. Kickoff against the RedWolves is scheduled
for 1 p.m.
The Golden Eagles (4-2) and the RedWolves (3-2-2) each suffered
losses during their Friday contest as ORU fell, 1-0, at Oklahoma
and ASU was blanked by Tulsa, 4-0. Against the Sooners, sophomore
keeper Maddie
Rhodes made her first start of the season and played well,
recording seven saves.
Picked to finish second in the Sun Belt this season, ASU is led
by Christine Giles who has scored four goals, while Preseason
All-Sun Belt selections Christina Fink and Loren Mitchell have
three goals each.
A pair of keepers, Amanda Lee and Michaela Supple, have seen
time between the posts for the RedWolves this season. Each has
recorded a shutout, while Lee has 30 saves and Supple has picked up
13.
ORU has a 4-0 record over the RedWovles. In the last meeting, Jennifer
Abernathy and Mary-Kate
Halsmer each scored as the Golden Eagles topped the RedWolves
3-2 in Jonesboro, Ark.
