TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts University
women's tennis team swept a pair of matches Friday against
Grambling State winning 5-0 and 7-0 at the Case Tennis Center.
ORU snapped a two match skid Friday as they improved to 3-4 on
the season.
The Golden Eagles got two wins from Petya Simenova and Brenda
Mercado to help propel the team in both wins.
Match Recap
- Petya Simenova won both her matches at No. 2
singles winning 6-0, 6-2 in the morning match before shutting out
Joy Jones, 6-0, 6-0 in the afternoon.
- Brenda Mercado also was a two-time winner at No. 4 singles
including a 6-1, 6-3 victory in the morning.
- Andrada Gordan and Ximena Puentes combined at No. 2 doubles for
a 6-1 win helping the Golden Eagles to their first point of the
day.
