DENVER, Colo.  – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team (4-9-2, 1-4-1 Summit) came up short in the Mile High City against the University of Denver (10-5-0, 5-0-0) on Sunday afternoon. ORU and Denver took a tight competition into the second half before the Pioneers pulled away late.

The two teams remained deadlocked at zero after 45 minutes of action. The Pioneers outshot the Golden Eagles 10-1 in the first half with Sophie Nash taking the lone shot of the half for ORU.

Denver managed to strike first in the 53rd minute when Sydney Sharp found the back of the net. The Pioneers doubled their lead to two when Devan McSwain scored in the 75th minute.

In the contest, ORU goalkeeper Louisa Ramsauer moved into seventh place in ORU history with 159 career saves. The sophomore has now made 75 saves on the season, just nine shy of her total from 2020.

The Golden Eagles looked to respond with a pair of goals of their own but were unable to capitalize. Nash and Martha Helsee each landed a shot on goal in the late efforts but neither were able to beat the Denver keeper.
