TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts women's tennis team swept Omaha, 7-0, Saturday afternoon at the Bernis Duke Tennis Center.
 
ORU took the doubles point in dramatic fashion Saturday. The Golden Eagles got the first win in doubles at No. 1 with a 6-2 victory by Zere Iskakova and Aliksandra Lebedeva. Oleksandra Nahurska and Rai Sengupta were down 5-3 at No. 2, but came back to win, 7-5, to put ORU up 1-0 in the dual.
 
"I'm so proud of the ladies today," Director of Tennis Mark Milner said. "They came ready to play with a sense of urgency and competed extremely hard. Although, it was 7-0, it was a very close match. They knew how big this match was and they responded really well."
 
Gorana Kadijevic got things going in singles play for ORU with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 to put the team up 2-0. Nahurska gave the Golden Eagles a 3-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 1. Iskakova sealed the dual win for ORU with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 to put the Golden Eagles up 4-0. Flavia Gutierrez continued ORU's winning streak with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6, followed by Lebedeva win at No. 2, 7-6, 6-0. Sengupta pulled off the shutout for the Golden Eagles with a three-set win at No. 3, 6-4, 5-6, 1-0.
 
Up Next: ORU will host Louisiana Tech Sunday, March 28 at 10 a.m. at the Bernis Duke Tennis Center.
