TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts women's tennis team swept Western Illinois, 7-0, Saturday afternoon at the Bernis Duke Tennis Center.
 
"This is another great conference win for our girls," Assistant Coach Peter McCorkle said. "Western Illinois fought hard and I felt like our girls came out ready. This team is continuing to improve each day even through some adversity. This team is special."
 
Aliksandra Lebedeva and Zere Iskakova got things going in doubles action with a shutout, 6-0, win at the No. 1 spot. Rai Sengupta and Oleksandra Nahurska claimed the doubles points for ORU with a 6-1 win at No. 2.
 
All six Golden Eagles that competed in doubles play also competed in singles action. Nahurska put ORU up 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles. Flavia Gutierrez earned the third point for ORU with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6. Iskakova won the fourth point and claimed the dual for ORU with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 5. Kadijevic earned a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 4, followed by a 7-5, 6-0, win by Sengupta at No. 3. Lebedeva played to a third set at No. 2 and won 7-5, 6-7, 1-0, to grab the shutout for the Golden Eagles.
