#ORUWSoc Drops Contest to Wildcats

TULSA, Okla.  – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team (3-5-1) fell in heartbreaking fashion on Friday night to the Weber State Wildcats (3-4-0) by a score of 2-1 at the Case Soccer Complex. Friday's loss marked the final nonconference match for the Golden Eagles before beginning Summit League play.
 
Weber State opened the scoring with a goal in the 16th minute to take the early advantage. Kennedy Langebartels nearly responded with an equalizer but her shot attempt sailed just north of the crossbar. Despite additional good looks, neither team was able to find the back of the net which allowed the Wildcats took the 1-0 lead into the break.
 
Just after halftime, Samantha Guzman evened the score with her third goal of the season. The freshman earned a penalty kick and managed to score on the rebound to tie the game at one.
 
In the 76th minute, Weber State managed to sneak a shot through the five hole of the ORU goalkeeper to take the lead with just 14 minutes remaining in regulation. The Golden Eagles were unable to find a response, falling in devastating fashion.
