CONWAY, Ark. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team (2-3-1) suffered their third consecutive loss on Sunday night, falling to the University of Central Arkansas (2-4-0) by a score of 3-1 on the road.

Central Arkansas struck first in the 19th minute to take an early lead. Just six minutes later, Pamela Caballeros scored for the fifth time this season to even the score. Caballeros buried a shot into the upper right corner to extend her team lead in goals.

The two teams would remain deadlocked through the remainder of the first half and into the early going of the second half.

A yellow card issued to the Golden Eagles in the 53rd minute was the beginning of an unfortunate five minutes. Following the warning, UCA managed to score twice in rapid succession to take a commanding 3-1 lead. After the pair of goals from the Bears, ORU struggled to find an offensive rhythm.

ORU landed 100% of their second half shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net. Freshmen Sophie Nash and Samantha Guzman led the charge, both landing multiple shots on goal throughout the evening.

Notables
  • Amy Alexander earned his first collegiate start on Sunday evening, playing the full 90 minutes as a defender. Michele Bonifacio also logged the full-time in defense.
  • Drishana Pillay also earned her first start of the season for the Golden Eagles.
  • Nash and Guzman combined to land all five shots that they took on goal.
  • Sunday's match was somewhat of a homecoming for Nash and Olivia Brown, both of whom reside in Arkansas.
  • The Golden Eagles only earned two corner kicks throughout the night.
  • ORU and UCA each landed seven shots on goal, despite UCA attempting seven more shots than the Golden Eagles.
