SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Oral Roberts women's tennis team defeated the Missouri State Bears, 4-3, Friday evening on the road.

Zere Iskakova and Arina Sorokina got things going for ORU early winning their No. 3 doubles match, 6-2. Chara Grammatikaki and Luna Morini would then seal the doubles point for the Golden Eagles winning 6-4.

"The girls played incredible today," Assistant Coach Peter McCorkle said. "We won the first four points to seal the win. This is a team that is only getting better. They are a group of women that are getting better each day in not only their tennis play, but their fight for their team and university.

Grammatikaki made it a 2-0 Golden Eagle lead winning 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 2 singles spot. Sasha Lebedeva won at the No. 1 position, 6-3, 6-4 to then make it 3-0. ORU would need one more point to win the dual and they did. Zere Iskakova would close out her singles match at No. 6, 7-5, 6-3 to win it for her team.

Up Next: ORU will host Louisiana Tech Monday, February 20 at 10 a.m. at the Bernis Duke Tennis Center, followed by Oklahoma State at 4 p.m.
