TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's tennis team moved to 3-1 in Summit League play after defeating Kansas City, 5-2, Tuesday afternoon from the Bernis Duke Tennis Facility.

The Golden Eagles began the match dominating in doubles play. Chara Grammatitaki and Arina Sorokina controlled Court 1, 6-3, while freshman Cassie Cervantes and Zere Iskakova defeated their opponents, 6-3, on Court 3 to secure the doubles point for ORU.

Kansas City fought back in singles play earning victories on Courts 1 and 4, but the Golden Eagles maintained control over the remaining matches. Sorokina earned a hard fought point on Court 2 after defeating UMKC's Catherine Chrobak in three sets 6-2, 5-7, 10-7. Grammatitaki handled Court 3 claiming a 7-6 (7-1), 6-3 win. Iskakova (6-4, 6-3) and Cervantes (6-0, 6-4) both earned their second wins of the day on Courts 5 and 6 as they help ORU earn its third Summit League win of the season.

The Golden Eagles sit tied for second place with South Dakota in the League standing as both programs hold a 3-1 conference record.
