The Basics
Score: Oral Roberts 1 – Tulsa 1
Record: ORU (1-3-1) – Tulsa (2-1-2)
Location: Case Soccer Complex (Tulsa, Okla.)

TULSA, Okla. – In front of a crowd of more than 2,000 people, the Oral Roberts women's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw against crosstown rival Tulsa Thursday night from the Case Soccer Complex.

An early turnover by the Golden Eagles in front of their own goal gave Tulsa a 1-0 lead in just the sixth minute of play. ORU wouldn't waver though, and instantly responded with a shot on goal by Audrey Weir. The Golden Eagles registered eight shots in the first half. Carty Kingsbury took two shots on goal between the 31st and 33rd minute that just missed the back of the net. Tulsa took its 1-0 lead into the break.

In the second half, ORU continued to take chances on offense and seek a breakthrough on the score sheet. Tulsa appeared to be in control for the remainder of the contest until the Golden Eagles mounted one final push. In the 89th minute, a ricocheted ball found Jordan Grigsby on the right side of Tulsa's box. Grigsby lofted in a cross that bounced towards Samantha Guzman, who headed the ball into the back of the net to even the score 1-1. Guzman's late-game heroics resulted in the seventh tie between ORU and Tulsa all-time. The Mayor's Cup will remain in the Golden Eagles' possession for a second straight season.
