Location:Â Case Soccer Complex (Tulsa, Oklahoma)
TULSA, Okla. – First-half goals from
Audrey Weir and
Julia Thasaphong propelled the Oral Roberts women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Missouri State Thursday night at the Case Soccer Complex.
Â
The Golden Eagles jumped on the offensive early as Weir registered a shot on goal in the first 20 seconds of action. ORU remained aggressive on offense over the next 13 minutes with three shots taken by
Kennedy Langebartels over that span of time. The Golden Eagles finally broke through when
Jordan Grigsby found
Audrey Weir behind the Bears' backline for the score. Weir scored her second goal in three games to put ORU up one. Less than two minutes later, Weir launched a cross from right to left that bounced off the top of
Riley Baldwin's head and found a wide-open
Julia Thasaphong on the backside for the score. In the 43
rd minute, the Bears came away the loose ball on ORU's side of the field that resulted in a quick goal by Reilly Heman right before halftime.

After the break, the Golden Eagles once again jumped on the offensive. ORU fired six shots in the first 12 minutes but could not find the back of the net. The Golden Eagles played a sound defensive match as they limited goal-scoring opportunities for the away team. ORU held its ground for the final 45 minutes and earned its third win of the season.
