TULSA, Okla. – After leveling the score at two just 17 minutes into play, the Oral Roberts women's soccer team slipped to South Dakota State on Sunday afternoon.
The result moves the Golden Eagles to 12-4-2 overall and 6-1-1 in Summit League play to conclude the regular season.
It didn't take long for action to begin, as the Jackrabbits netted back-to-back goals before the seven-minute mark. ORU responded quickly when
Marlee Fort tallied her fourth goal of the season in the ninth minute, assisted by
Julia Thasaphong and
Brianna Castleberry.
Genesis Helsley followed with her sixth goal of the year in the 17th minute, slotting a pass from Castleberry between a Jackrabbit defender and the goalkeeper.
In similar fashion to the first 45 minutes, SDSU came out strong to start the second half, netting the game-winning goal in the 47th minute.
