TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts University Director of Athletics Tim Johnson has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Baseball Oversight Committee, effective October 15, 2025.
Johnson will serve a four-year term on the committee, expiring in August 2029.
"It is a true honor to be selected to serve on the Baseball Oversight Committee," Johnson said. "I am excited to represent Oral Roberts University and the Summit League at the national level. I look forward to contributing to the future of the sport while ensuring that the student-athlete experience and the tournament continue to thrive at the highest level."
The newly formed NCAA Division I Baseball Oversight Committee is tasked with maintaining oversight of all aspects of Division I baseball, including legislation related to athletics personnel, playing and practice seasons, recruiting rules, playing rules authority, championship administration, and the continued development of the sport. Johnson will also serve on the Championship subcommittee that oversees the NCAA Tournament selection process, regional assignments, and the running of the College World Series.
The committee is composed of representatives from each of the four autonomy conferences, three representatives from the highest baseball achieving non-autonomy conferences, three at-large selections, four student-athletes, one faculty athletics representative, one officials coordinator, one rules editor, and one coaches association representative.
Johnson has made a significant impact during one of the most successful periods in ORU Athletics history, highlighted by a College World Series appearance, a Sweet 16 men's basketball run, numerous sport conference championships, record achievements in academics and fundraising, comprehensive facility renovations, and the construction of a new 50,000-square-foot athletic center. He has also served as chair of both the basketball and baseball committees for the Summit League.
