KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The first half saw ORU take control of the pace early, consistently applying pressure and creating opportunities in the final third. Despite their dominance and putting half of their shots on target, it was KC who found the net first with a goal in the 23rd minute. ORU kept pushing and, after eight total shots, finally broke through when Precious Edosa scored in the 44th minute to bring the match level at 1-1 heading into halftime.
The second half was a tightly contested battle, with ORU taking four shots and Kansas City responding with three of their own, two of which were on target and kept ORU's defense alert. The breakthrough came in the 64th minute when Luci Rodriguez netted her first goal, giving ORU a 2-1 lead. That goal proved to be the difference, as ORU held on to secure the first conference win.
