TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's tennis team fell 5-2 to Missouri State on Friday in Tulsa, dropping to 1-2 on the 2026 season.
In doubles play, the Golden Eagles struggled against the Bears, with all three ORU pairs falling. Ava Goodell and Cecilia Franzin fought hard at No. 1 doubles but fell 6-7, 6-8 to Lucy Latham and Matilde Ercoli. Miranda Noor and Abby Wise were defeated 2-6 by Elsie Jackson and Raluca Puscas at No. 2 doubles, while Natalia Perez Ortega and Cassie Cervantes dropped 0-6 at No. 3 doubles against Leni Eichner and Billur Gonlusen.
Singles play featured several tightly contested matches. Cecilia Franzin battled at No. 1 singles but was defeated by Lucy Latham 3-6, 0-6. Miranda Noor responded with a solid victory at No. 2, defeating Billur Gonlusen 7-5, 4-6, 6-3. Ava Goodell dropped a tough three-set match to Leni Eichner 7-6, 7-4, 6-4. Cassie Cervantes fell 4-6, 3-6 to Matilde Ercoli at No. 4 singles, while Abby Wise earned ORU's second point with a 6-2, 6-3, 6-6 win over Elsie Jackson at No. 5. Natalia Perez Ortega also secured a win at No. 6 singles, defeating Raluca Puscas 7-5, 6-0.
