TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer program put together a dominant second-half performance Friday night, shutting out St. Thomas, 3-0, at Case Soccer Complex. With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 8-1-3 overall and 2-0-1 in Summit League play, while St. Thomas falls to 1-8-1 (0-3-0).
The two teams played to a scoreless first half despite ORU controlling 67% of possession and out-shooting the Tommies 6-2, with St. Thomas goalkeeper Ayden Gagner turning away three shots to keep the match level at the break.
The floodgates opened in the second half for ORU. Hannah Voskuhl broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute, finishing off an assist from a Brianna Castleberry corner kick for her first goal of the season.
ORU doubled the lead in the 77th minute when Keira Floyd buried her own first goal of the year, also assisted by a Castleberry corner kick.
Genesis Helsley capped the scoring in the 85th minute putting an exclamation point on a commanding performance.
The Golden Eagles finished with a staggering 19 shots to St. Thomas' 2, including an 11-1 edge in shots on goal and a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks. Alyson Sebban needed just one save to preserve the shutout, her sixth clean sheet of the season.
