JONESBORO, Ark. – The Oral Roberts men's golf program participated in the Arkansas State Spring Invitational, hosted by Arkansas State at Ridgepointe Country Club in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The Golden Eagles placed eighth out of 11 teams.
The Club at Old Hawthorne is a par 72 course that plays 6,587 yards. The average score over the three-round tournament was 75.07.
As a team, ORU finished twenty-six over par (298-299-293) and placed eighth in the 11-team field. Arkansas State (#46) claimed the team title, shooting twenty-five under par (277-279-283). Arkansas State's Thomas Schmidt (#49) won the individual title, closing out his week at six under par (69-66-75).
Phillip Voetmann shot 76-70-74, earning a T19 finish at four over par. Voetmann led the Arkansas State Spring Invitational field with 17 birdies on the week. His 70 (-2) was the low round of the tournament for the Golden Eagles.
Ben Gratzl tied for 23rd at five over par (73-77-71). Gratzl was the only other Golden Eagle to card a round under par.
Gustav Liljeberg shot 74-79-72 (+9) to close out the Tiger Invitational in 33
rd.
Jorge Sanchez Gutierrez concluded the Arkansas State Spring Invitational tied for 49
th with a score of 14 over par (76-73-81).
Christian Johnson rounded out the scoring for ORU, shooting 75-80-76 (+15). Johnson placed tied for 52
nd.
