MARICOPA, Ariz. – The ORU women's golf program competed in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic from April 7-8 in Maricopa, Arizona at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes. The Golden Eagles finished in 16th place out of 20 teams.
Ak-Chin Southern Dunes is a par-72 course that plays 6,212 yards. The average score over the three-round tournament was 75.42.
As a team, ORU shot 302-299-300 and finished 37 over par. Iowa State (#22) claimed the team title, shooting 26 under par on the week (277-286-281). Nichakorn Pinprayoon (#97) took home the individual title, shooting 17 under par (65-69-65).
Jayla Kucy placed T49, shooting 76-70-77 to finish the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at seven over par. Her second round 70 (-2) was the low round of the week for the Golden Eagles.
Lydia Swan finished two shots back of Kucy, putting together rounds of 76-76-73 to finish the week at nine over par, earning a T55 finish.
Avery Blake shot 71-79-76 (+10), closing out the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic tied for 63rd.
Anna Swan carded rounds of 81-83-74, finishing T99.
Khloe Jones did not finish.
