2025 Cross Country Roster
Biography
Abraham Chelangam has rewritten the record books and set a new standard of excellence for Oral Roberts University Cross Country and Track and Field. Hailing from Kampala, Uganda, Abraham has become one of the most decorated athletes in ORU history in just a short time on campus, earning MVP honors in Indoor, Outdoor, and Cross Country in a single calendar year—a rare triple crown achievement.
During his indoor season, Abraham claimed Summit League titles in the mile, 3K, and 5K, setting a new meet record in the 5K and becoming ORU's first Indoor MVP since 2020. His outdoor accomplishments are equally impressive, as he captured Summit League titles in both the 5K and 10K, shattering a 39-year-old meet record in the 10K. His dominant performances earned him ORU’s first Outdoor MVP award since 2016.
Abraham's excellence extends to the cross country course, where he broke ORU school records in the 6K and 8K and was named the first USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week in program history. He capped his cross country season by setting both a course and meet record at the Summit League Cross Country Championships, becoming ORU’s first individual cross country champion since 2008.
With each race, Abraham pushes the limits and raises the bar, solidifying his legacy as a true ORU champion and an inspiration to athletes across the Summit League.
