Was a second team all-county selection in the high jump ... also played on the lacrosse team at Springbrook HS ... won the regional championship in the long jump, hitting the winning mark on his final attempt ... personal bests are 43-8.75 (TJ) and 19-3 (LJ).

Majoring in psychology at ORU with hopes of becoming a child/family counselor ... son of Parrish Purnell and Shirrell Purnell ... comes from a family full of athletes; father was a triple and long jumper as well as 200m and 400m runner, mother was a miler and high jumper and brother, PJ, played basketball for ORU.
