Placed third overall in the 2014 Nigeria Trials ... was a member of the Commonwealth Team and the African Championship Team ... holds PRs of 10.59 (100m), 21.3 (200m) and 46.56 (400m).

Came to ORU because of the Whole Person education ... also recruited by LSU, Miami and Iowa State ... studying sports management with a minor in communication at ORU, but hopes to compete professionally ... son of Prof. and Mrs. John Akerele.
